As I sit on the couch, with fireworks going off in the background, I think back on the last year, and simultaneously look forward to what’s next.
We have been isolated by Covid-19 for almost 2 years now. It’s covid-NIENTEEN. Let that sink in. Two entire years gone, poof!
As I look ahead, I’m hoping WE can come out of this stronger, and more connected. Going back to the way things were won’t exactly work anymore – too much has happened. But we can go forward, and re-begin to do all the things we have been talking about doing for years.
When it comes to this blog, I have some lofty goals. I plan to reach them that by continuing to create high quality Apple HomeKit home automation posts & guides for YOU. I realize there are only so many posts I can do about that, so you will soon be seeing a pivot to more home blogging content, with the hopes of better connecting with you.
Connect the House
The #1 goal of this blog has always been to show you how easy it is to add home automation to YOUR home. Realistic projects that don’t cost an arm and a leg, and work right out of the box. No complicated programming or 3rd party solutions. Simple, easy, Home Automation.
For my house I’m looking to upgrade to the new HomeKeys when a good, reputable lock maker announces a new product. I still have some switches to replace with Lutron Caseta, and hopefully by the end of the year that will be finished. For some time I’ve been threatening to convert the upstairs loft to a Football / Movie / Gaming room. That’ll be the big project for the year. I’m sure as I add on more devices I’ll have to upgrade my WiFi from the standard modem/Router to a mesh system, but we can cross that bridge when we get to it.
And lots LOTS more photos
Connect with other Bloggers
It feels like there has been a return to longer post formats in the world of Social Media, and the WordPress blog is a perfect way to accomplish that. The fleeting, fake Instagram and TikTok world is fun to visit, but I’ve found it very toxic, and am now tending to stay away from those platforms.
I haven’t started a profile with any of those platforms, yet, and if you demand it, of course I’ll deliver, but for now I’m sticking with what I do best, and that is write and make photos that help you with Homekit.
I am devoting a little bit every night for outreach, too – looking for other automation and house bloggers to create a fun and helpful community with.
Connect with YOU
I have always loved meeting new people – in 2022 I would like to be able to help one of my readers with their Home Automation needs.
Obviously I’m not a professional, but my friends tell me that I know enough to get them both interested and started with Home Automation. If you are thinking of starting and want some personal advice, let me know!
Thank you
Finally, I want to thank you, for taking the time to visit my little site, and read this far. You are the 1%-ers, and I am eternally grateful for you. Thanks!
